This one of a kind hooded sweatshirt exclusively features the artwork from Mtume’s legendary Alkebu-Lan - Land Of The Blacks (Live At The East), a 1971 album celebrated as an iconic moment in Afrocentric and free jazz. Bronx, New York born visual artist Wabembe developed the original Alkebu-Lan cover art and his artistic title “Mtume” appears at the top of the front of the sweatshirt with his African talisimu (a spiritual totem) from the album appearing below it. On the back of the sweatshirt, Wabembe’s artistic graphical fonts honor the illustrious Brooklyn community venue, “The East”, where the album was performed and recorded. Another element from the album artwork - “All seeing eye” pyramids - adorn the sleeves.
